These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Celtic Monitor website (the “Site”). The Site is operated by Celtic Monitor Education Ltd (“Celtic Monitor”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) from 1WML, Windmill Lane, Dublin Docklands, Dublin 2, D02 F206, Ireland. By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
1. Acceptance of Terms and Eligibility
By using the Site, you confirm that you are at least 16 years old. If you are under 16, you may use the Site only with the involvement and supervision of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to be bound by these Terms on your behalf.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes become effective as described in Section 19. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
2. Educational Content and Safety Disclaimer
Celtic Monitor provides educational information about cycling, basic bicycle maintenance, outdoor recreation planning, and related safety habits. The content is intended to be practical and beginner-friendly, but it is not a substitute for professional instruction, qualified mechanical inspection, or official road safety rules and guidance.
Cycling and outdoor activities involve inherent risks, including risk of injury, property damage, and adverse weather conditions. You are responsible for:
- Assessing your own skill level and physical condition before riding or attempting any maintenance.
- Following applicable Irish road traffic rules and official safety guidance where you ride or walk.
- Using appropriate protective equipment, visibility aids, and properly maintained gear.
- Stopping and seeking qualified help if a task or situation is unsafe, unclear, or beyond your experience.
We do not guarantee that following our guides will prevent accidents or mechanical failures. Conditions vary by rider, terrain, equipment, traffic, and weather.
3. Description of the Site
The Site may include articles, checklists, workshop descriptions, and contact forms. We may add, remove, or modify features, content categories, and formats at any time. We do not promise that any specific guide, topic, or workshop format will remain available.
The Site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Availability may be affected by maintenance, updates, connectivity issues, or third-party service interruptions.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Site lawfully and responsibly. You must not:
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, servers, or related systems.

If you submit a message through our contact form or by email, you agree to provide accurate information and not to include sensitive personal data that is unnecessary for your enquiry. For example, do not share medical information, government identifiers, or payment card details.
You are responsible for the content of your message. We may retain and use contact submissions to respond to you, to improve our educational content, and to keep internal records as described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Celtic Monitor disclaims all warranties and representations, express or implied, regarding the Site and its content, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that any content is complete or suitable for your specific circumstances. Any reliance you place on content is at your own risk.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Celtic Monitor Education Ltd and its directors, employees, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, or data, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Site.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to the Site will not exceed the greater of: (a) the amount you paid to us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) €100.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Irish law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Celtic Monitor Education Ltd from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your misuse of the Site, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another person or entity.
11. Force Majeure
We will not be liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, severe weather, war, terrorism, labour disputes, public health emergencies, power failures, internet outages, cyberattacks, or failures of hosting and cloud services.
12. International Use
The Site is intended for the Irish market and is written in English. We make no representation that the Site is appropriate or legally available in every jurisdiction. If you access the Site from outside Ireland, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for complying with local laws where they apply.
13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, without regard to conflict of law principles. The courts of Dublin, Ireland will have exclusive jurisdiction to resolve any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the Site, except where applicable consumer protection laws provide you with rights to bring claims in your place of residence.
14. Dispute Resolution (Informal First)
Before starting formal proceedings, you agree to contact us and allow at least 30 days for an informal resolution attempt. Many issues can be resolved by clarifying an enquiry, correcting content, or addressing a technical problem.
15. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or if your activity creates risk or potential legal exposure. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, and governing law.
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. The invalid or unenforceable provision will be interpreted, where possible, to achieve the intended purpose in a lawful manner.
17. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Celtic Monitor regarding the Site and supersede any prior agreements or understandings relating to the Site.
18. Assignment and No Waiver
We may assign or transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms as part of a corporate reorganisation, merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent.
Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
19. Modifications to These Terms
We may change these Terms to reflect updates to the Site, legal requirements, or operational changes. Unless a change is required by law to take immediate effect, updated Terms will become effective 14 days after they are posted on this page. The “Last Updated” date at the top of this page indicates the most recent revision.
20. Electronic Communications
By using the Site and contacting us electronically, you consent to receive communications from us electronically. You agree that electronic communications, including emails and notices posted on the Site, satisfy any legal requirement that such communications be in writing.
